01 CLEANING

Since the wood floorings are coated with water-based varnishes, then it needs both dry and wet mopping to keep its sheen and brightness as long as possible. Dry mopping is usually done on a daily basis, while wet mopping is done once a week or on occasional basis.

A- Dry mopping:

Dry mopping is usually done using manual dust mops with microfiber pads to trap dust with electrostatic charge. It is very important that the microfiber pad is clean and does not contain any dust from previous cleaning applications which might cause scratches or does not trap dust as meant to be.

B- Wet mopping process:

Prior to wet mopping it is very important to do dry mopping or vacuuming to avoid any problems during wet process. Using a spray mop with a mild floor soap (PH 7) the floor might be mopped gently in any direction to remove dirt on the floor. Once the floor is dry it can be immediately used.

Caution:

It is very important not to use any detergents which has a different PH or contains any solvents or waxes that might affect or damage the varnish coat. It is also very important not to use any polishing materials on the varnished floors because it might damage the varnish coat or makes the floor slippery or can be a dust trap which will be difficult to remove later.
